Hardly anyone would have thought that s/he can lose weight just by decreasing the amount of food that's eaten daily. For example, you can eliminate something such as maple syrup from your pancakes. Another example can be eating a salad for lunch instead of a larger and usual meal. Yet another example can be doing without dessert for dinner such as apple pie or whatever you usually eat to satisfy your sweet tooth.
You can come up with numerous ways for reducing overall calories on a daily basis; just get creative.
